TURIN, Italy -- Carlos Tevez broke his Champions League duck as he scored twice to lead Juventus to a hard-fought 2-0 victory at home to Malmo in their opening Group A fixture on Tuesday. Juventus struggled at times before Tevez broke the deadlock in the 59th, following good interplay with Kwadwo Asamoah. It was the Argentina forwards first goal in Europes elite club competition in more than five years. Tevez then sealed the result in stoppage time with a well-placed free kick that sailed into the top corner. "I didnt miss scoring in the Champions League, that wasnt a problem for me," Tevez said. "I play for a team and with this team I always play as if it was my last match. "Im playing deeper now. And today when I rushed in to finish things off I managed to score twice. We need to continue like this. We know we need to win every match. The newspapers say its an easy group but, especially after last years experience, we know its not like that at all." The Bianconeri dominated possession against the Swedish side, but failed to create many clear cut opportunities, and it was Malmo which almost took the lead in the first half. In the other group match, Olympiakos surprisingly beat last years runner-up Atletico Madrid, 3-2. "Nothing is easy," new Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri said. "We knew we were facing a team which defended well and was also very physical. We needed to be good technically. In the first half we were disorganized, while in the second we dealt with the ball better. "It was important to get off to a good start. It will be a difficult group because Olympiakos beat Atletico tonight, and we will need a lot of points to progress." Juventus was without key playmaker Andrea Pirlo, who was injured along with Arturo Vidal and Andrea Barzagli, while Roberto Pereyra was suspended. The Italian side was eager to get off to a good start following last seasons disappointing group stage exit, while it was Malmos first appearance in the Champions League proper. Juventus struggled during the first half and it was Malmo which had the best chance in the 19th minute when Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon did well to parry Magnus Erikssons shot at point-blank range. Tevez had not scored in Europe since netting for Manchester United more than five years ago and the Argentinian had several opportunities to break his duck. After hitting an effort straight at the goalkeeper earlier in the first half, Tevez had another good chance on the half-hour mark, following Stephan Lichtsteiners pull back from the byline, but he fired into the sidenetting under pressure. Juventus should have scored as the first half drew to a close when Lichtsteiner burst into the box onto a Tevez through ball, but he overhit his pass as he attempted to pick out Asamoah at the back post. The home side was awarded a dangerous free kick on the stroke of halftime but Leonardo Bonucci hit it into the wall and then fired the rebound straight into the goalkeepers arms. Juventus finally found a way through in the 59th when Tevez played a one-two with Asamoah, who then backheeled it back into his path, for the Argentine to rifle into the bottom left corner. Fernando Llorente thought he had doubled Juves lead immediately afterward, but his effort was ruled out for a tight offside decision against Lichtsteiner. Lichtsteiner was dangerous all night and the Switzerland defender almost got on the scoresheet in the 70th but his header from Patrice Evras cross crashed down before bouncing over the bar. Llorente also had a good opportunity to wrap up the points but Malmo goalkeeper Robin Olsen pulled off a good double save to deny the Spaniard twice. Tevez sealed the result after substitute Alvaro Morata won a free kick for Juventus on the edge of the area shortly before the final whistle. Scarpe Air Max 270 Outlet . Through eight starts in 2014, Harang is proving hes still on top of his game. Two days after his 36th birthday, Harang pitched six strong innings and, backed by home runs from Evan Gattis and Jason Heyward, led the Atlanta Braves to a 5-2 win and a three-game sweep of the Chicago Cubs on Sunday. Harang (4-3) gave up two runs on six hits and two walks. He had nine strikeouts. He is one win shy of matching his total in 26 starts combined with Seattle and the Mets last year, and hes savoring his career revival. "It means a lot, just to get back out here and prove that I can still do this," Harang said. "I know there were probably a lot of people questioning that after last year. Ive been pitching well and guys are playing well behind me and were battling through games. Its been a lot of fun. Ive just got to keep it going." Harang, who was 5-12 with a career-worst 5.40 ERA last year, has a 2.98 ERA this season. The right-hander has allowed more than two earned runs in only one of his eight starts -- nine runs in a 9-3 loss at Miami on April 30. Ryan Kalish, Chris Coghlan and Welington Castillo each struck out twice against Harang. Overall, the Cubs finished with 14 strikeouts. "They have a young, aggressive team over there and I think I was able to take a little advantage of that, knowing how aggressive they are," Harang said. Gattis gave Atlanta a 3-2 lead with his homer off Edwin Jackson in the fourth inning. Heyward added to the lead with his first home run since April 9, a two-run drive off James Russell in the seventh that landed in the Braves bullpen beyond the right-field wall. "It felt like it was longer than that," Heyward said of his power drought. "I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find goood pitches to hit.dddddddddddd. If you try and do too much, thats when you start to compound things." Jackson (2-3) allowed three runs on six hits and two walks in six innings. "The two balls I got hurt on were balls up and over the middle," he said. "Balls that should be hit. Ive just got to do a better job of getting ahead in the count and working down." David Carpenter pitched the ninth for his second save. B.J. Upton made a sliding catch of Kalishs short fly in centre field to end it. Atlanta closer Craig Kimbrel was rested after pitching two straight days. The NL East-leading Braves have recovered from seven straight losses by winning four of five. The Cubs, last in the NL Central, have dropped seven of eight. Ryan Doumit had a run-scoring single and Andrelton Simmons drove in a run with a double to give Atlanta a 2-0 lead in the second. The Cubs tied it in the fourth on Nate Schierholtzs two-run double. The Braves quickly reclaimed the lead when Gattis hit his eighth homer over the 380-foot sign in left field. Dan Uggla was hit by a pitch from Russell as a pinch-hitter to lead off the seventh. Uggla scored on Heywards third homer.
