MONTREAL -- Montreal Alouettes offensive lineman Scott Flory will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn bicep. The team announced on Monday that Florys MRI results from earlier in the day show a complete bicep tear. Alouettes general manager Jim Popp said that Flory will be missed on the field, calling the 37-year-old an "institution at right guard" for Montreal. "As expected, the results of the MRI are not what we wanted to hear, but are what our medical team suspected," Popp said in a statement. "Injuries are a part of sports and unfortunately, Scott sustained a fluke one." Popp also said that Flory could undergo surgery as soon as Thursday. Flory suffered the injury during Fridays 22-14 loss to the Calgary Stampeders at Percival Molson Stadium. The Regina native has been with the team since 1999, playing his whole CFL career with Montreal. He has spent most of his 15 seasons at right guard for quarterback Anthony Calvillo. Flory is a three-time Grey Cup champion and nine-time CFL all-star. The Alouettes are 1-2 on the season. They play Calgary at McMahon Stadium on Saturday. Roger Craig Jersey . JP Ramirez hit a grand slam home run early and the Sioux Falls Canaries rode that to a 4-1 victory over the Goldeyes, who drop below .500 with the loss. "It was one of those days," said Goldeyes manager Rick Forney. "They pitched really well tonight and everything we hit hard found its way into someones glove. Well come back tomorrow and fight again." After being out of the Canaries lineup last night, Ramirez came through big in his first at-bat of the series. With the bases loaded in the second, he drove a Pete Gehle pitch over the outfield wall in right, giving Sioux Falls an early 4-0 lead. It was the 13th home run surrendered by Gehle and the fourth grand slam allowed by the Goldeyes this season. Winnipeg got on the scoreboard in the seventh inning when Amos Ramon drove in a run on an infield groundout, but that was all the offense the Goldeyes could muster. They scattered eight hits in the game and would never seriously threaten the Canaries lead. Adam Champion took the win for Sioux Falls. He pitched six scoreless innings, giving up seven hits and striking out three.dddddddddddd. Alan DeRatt pitched a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his 14th save of the season. He hasnt given up a run in his last eleven appearances. Gehle settled in after Ramirezs blast and turned in a good start. He pitched seven innings and allowed only two hits after the four-run second inning. However, the Goldeyes offense could not provide the lefthander any meaningful run support, dropping him to 3-4 on the season. It was the fourth time in six starts that Gehle has went at least seven innings. Ryan Scoma had a three-for-three night batting cleanup for the Goldeyes. He has now hit in eight of his last nine games. Goldeyes outfielder Fehlandt Lentini stolen base in the eighth inning tied an independent baseball all-time record. Lentini now has 331 career steals, a mark he shares with Billy Hall, who last played in 2005. The series is up for grabs in the finale tomorrow afternoon at Shaw Park. The 12 p.m. start time will be Winnipegs final afternoon weekday home game of the season. Veteran Ben Moore will get the start for the Canaries, while the Goldeyes will counter with lefty Edgar Osuna. ' ' '
